I'm a born and raised Calgarian. I've lived in the same house for 24 years, so moving to Lethbridge for school was a new experience for me. It's also much smaller than Calgary, much easier to get around and a lot less traffic! I'm the oldest child of 3, leaving me with a little brother and little sister. I've grown up living in a very family friendly 'zoo' - my family has owned dogs, cats, fish, bearded dragons, a bunny, birds, a hedgehog, chameleons, hamsters, and a snake. I am a huge country music fan and a concert aficionado.
Sports are a huge passion of mine whether it's playing them or watching them. I have played soccer for 20 years, both indoor and outdoor seasons. I've been in all roles of a soccer team - Coach, Assistant Coach, Captain and Player. I've recently joined a softball team as well. I thought it would be nice to try something new and so far I love it! I also participated in a Discover Skeleton Workshop at WINSport in Calgary. That was a thrilling experience to be going down an ice track at 80km/h head first! Along with playing sports, I love watching sports. I am a huge football and hockey fan. Go Flames! Go Blackhawks! Go Stampeders! Go Seahawks!
I had the opportunity to volunteer at the 2011-2012 IIHF World Junior Championship Tournament that was hosted in Calgary. It was the experience of a lifetime. I was part of the ceremonies team which required us to organize the opening/closing ceremonies, player of the game awards and medal ceremonies. I was a tray bearer so I had the chance to walk out onto the ice and present awards and medals to the players. I made my TSN Sports Centre Highlights debut, and had the chance to wear the gold medal around my neck!
